Known for her decision to quit the acting industry in 2019 due to religious conflicts, Zaira remains active on Twitter, where she often shares her thoughts and reflections.
In a recent incident, she reacted to a picture of a woman eating while wearing a niqab, emphasizing that it is purely a personal choice.
Taking to Twitter, Zaira responded to a post shared by a netizen. The post featured a photograph of a woman eating food with her hand, her face covered by a niqab. The caption questioned whether this was a choice made by the woman.
Zaira Wasim, in her reply, mentioned that she had attended a wedding where she ate in the same manner. She asserted that it is entirely an individual’s choice and recounted how people around her had repeatedly urged her to remove her niqab. However, she chose to adhere to her own decision and expressed, “We don’t do it for you. Deal with it.”
Zaira Wasim made her Bollywood debut with the film Dangal in 2016, where she portrayed the role of a young Geeta Phogat. At the age of 16, she garnered immense praise for her performance.
Following that, she starred in Aamir Khan Productions’ Secret Superstar in 2017. Her last appearance on the big screen was in The Sky Is Pink, alongside Priyanka Chopra, before she announced her retirement from acting.
