Dr Mukhtar reaffirms commitment to polio eradication

KARACHI: Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination (NHSR&C), Islamabad, accompanied by Mr. Irshad Ali Sodhar, Coordinator, Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Sindh, and Dr. Ahmad Ali Shaikh, BMG Focal Person for Sindh, visited SHRUC Ittihad-2 in District Keamari.

The delegation engaged in comprehensive discussions with Deputy Commissioner Keamari, Mr. Raja Tariq Hussain Chandio, to review ongoing polio eradication efforts and field operations.

During the visit, Dr. Bharath lauded the unwavering dedication of the Assistant Commissioners in Baldia for their proactive approach to addressing on-ground challenges and ensuring robust monitoring of vaccination campaigns.

He remarked, “The exemplary commitment of the administrative team in Keamari reflects the collective resolve required to eliminate polio from Pakistan.”

Dr. Bharath underscored the importance of collaboration, stating, “Polio eradication demands a unified and coordinated effort from all stakeholders.

This visit has further strengthened the partnership between administrative authorities and health teams in tackling field-level challenges.”

They emphasized the critical role of data-driven planning, strengthened coordination, and active community engagement in achieving a polio-free Pakistan.

They also lauded the unwavering efforts of Assistant Commissioners and frontline workers, whose steadfast dedication continues to drive the nation closer to eradicating polio.
