Imran reiterates his stance for elections, warns about destruction in case of delay

LAHORE , April 25, 2023: The PTI chairman has said that the delay in elections by the current regime is the worst attack on constitution. Delaying election in just fear of losing will have grave implications for the country.

During a meeting with senior journalists and anchors, former Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the only solution to the ongoing crisis in the country is to consult the people.

According to the Constitution of Pakistan, Allah Almighty is the supreme power, however the power is delegated and practised through the people. The people exercise their power by electing their representatives in a transparent manner.

Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Imran Khan, said that the establishment and foundation of his party is based on the establishment of justice and rule of law in the country. The party is making peaceful democratic and constitutional efforts to achieve its objectives since 1996. The party is working to prevent the murder of the Constitution by those who want violate the rights of the voters.

Imran Khan said that the elite class in the country is defying the law and promoting tyranny and fascism. The basic rights and laws are being trampled upon to appease thieves. A cruel chain of violence is being carried out against innocent young people. The elections are not only my choice or the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s, but they are the need of country and the nation. The dissolution of assemblies is the only 100% constitutional and democratic.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan further said that the Constitution does not allow to delay election more than 90 days ant the current regime is violating the constitution. The judiciary, especially the Supreme Court, is the center of the nation’s hopes. Every worker of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and the nation stand behind the judiciary for the supremacy of the constitution. We are fully prepared and united for the elections and will resist unconstitutional step of delaying elections.
