ISLAMABAD/LAHORE, May 31(ABC): The fight over Punjab governor’s post finally ended after PML-N’s Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman took oath of office on Monday night.
Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti administered oath to the new governor.
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz, officials and dignitaries attended the oath-taking ceremony.
President Alvi approves Rehman’s appointment
After rejecting the summary twice, President Arif Alvi, earlier today, approved the appointment of Rehman as the governor.
President Alvi approved the summary on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif under Article 101(1) of the Constitution of Pakistan.
