NUR-SULTAN, Sep 15(ABC): China and Kazakhstan on Wednesday issued a joint statement on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The statement summarizes the achievements of bilateral cooperation over the past decades and underscores a promising future of coordination between the two sides.

In the statement, Kazakhstan firmly supports the one-China principle, and reaffirms that the Government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China, which has been clearly recognized by the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758.

Recognizing that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory, Kazakhstan opposes “Taiwan independence” in all forms, and supports the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations as well as all efforts by the Chinese government to realize the peaceful reunification of China.

The Chinese side firmly supports the path of development independently chosen by Kazakhstan, and measures taken by the government of Kazakhstan to safeguard domestic stability, maintain inter-ethnic harmony, and stimulate socio-economic development.

The two sides will maintain the good tradition of close communication between the two heads of state, give full play to the significant strategic guiding role of the head-of-state diplomacy for the development of bilateral relations, improve the mechanism of regular Prime Ministers’ Meetings, and maintain the effective work of the China-Kazakhstan Cooperation Committee.

China and Kazakhstan are willing to actively cooperate in implementing the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and jointly building a community with a shared future for mankind. The two sides expressed their belief that it will help reach broad consensus on global security issues, according to the statement.

The two sides stand ready to actively promote the synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and Kazakhstan’s “Bright Road” new economic policy, so as to give strong impetus to cross-border trade in goods and services and benefit the people of the two countries.

The two sides also emphasize the utmost importance of universal vaccination, vaccine supplies, technology transfer, promotion of local production, development of medical supply chains, and price transparency.
