Web Desk, July 4, 2023: A private laboratory has verified that the city of Lahore has received its first complaint of Naegleria, a brain-eating amoeba.
A patient in his 30s was brought into Services Hospital.
The patient had a fever and a headache for the previous four days, according to Services Hospital MS Dr. Ehtisham Haque.
“The history of the Naegleria case is being determined. The Naegleria case has been given to a team of highly qualified medical personnel, he said.
A board will be established to care for the patient, according to Dr. Ehtisham Haque.
It is important to mention that Karachi has had a lot of Naegleria instances.
A warning has been issued by experts asking the general public to avoid swimming in unchlorinated pools.
