RAWALPINDI , May 17, 2023: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) decided on Wednesday to record the statements of the entire cabinet of former prime minister Imran Khan.
The sources divulged the statements of some members of Mr Khan’s cabinet will be recorded as witnesses. In this regard, Faisal Vawda and Sheikh Rashid had been asked to appear before the accountability watchdog on May 24.
The NAB Rawalpindi had also issued a notice to Ali Zaidi to appear before the accountability watchdog. Mr Khan’s close aide, Zulfi Bukhari, had also been issued a notice to appear before the NAB.
On the other hand, Earlier today, the accountability watchdog summoned Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid along with record on May 24 in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
In his video message on Twitter, Mr Rashid thanked the NAB for implicating him in the case.
“I am grateful to NAB that it has also made me a party with Imran Khan in the case of £190 million. Thankfully they also considered me worth £190 million,” he said in his message.
He said police had been raiding Lal Haveli and “my mother’s house” for several days. “I want to ask the police to respect women while entering houses. The situation in Pakistan is very bad. Until I get arrested, I will use Twitter twice a day,” the ex-interior minister added.
Mr Ahmed said he would fight his war within the framework of the constitution and law. “I want to tell the good news to the whole nation that the judiciary will win. A few hundred people were humiliated and disgraced after a few hours of siege.
“Decisions will be announced before June 15. The constitution and law will prevail. The judiciary will win. The people of Pakistan will win. Right and truth will win.”
The former minister said, “I will stand firm like a rock. Jail is like house of my in-laws. My luggage is ready. Many thanks to NAB for implicating me in £190 million [scam].”
