LAHORE, Oct 23(ABC): Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday said that the fight against political extremism will be continued.
Addressing a speech at Asma Jahangir Conference, the foreign minister berated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, accusing him [Imran] of being responsible for the suicide attack on the national economy that has caused the country to suffer greatly. Despite the calamitous condition in the nation brought on by the flash floods, Bilawal continued, “He [Imran] is talking about the long march.
He also added that the nation’s agricultural and economic foundations have been harmed by the flash floods, stressing that there is an urgent need for cooperation to address environmental concerns.
Bilawal claimed that Pakistan was more devastated by the floods than England and that now is the moment to speak out for the flood-affected people in the media and in politics, but this hasn’t happened. “I have made it clear to the world that the issues we face are not our fault,” said FM.
Recalling that his government had prevented the country from going into default and claimed that the unprecedented floods had put the populace to yet another test in the shape of a natural disaster.
Describing Asma Jahangir as a “role model” for human rights activists and lawyers, Bilawal went on to say that speaking at the Asma Jahangir Conference is a gratifying occasion for him.
